Goal 15: life on land
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 15: Life on Land, seemingly aims to "take urgent action to end poaching and trafficking of protected species of flora and fauna and address both demand and supply of illegal wildlife products". I dispute this claim, as the UN does not appear to be taking any action towards ending this lucrative trade. The pangolin, (which has sadly earned the title as the worlds most trafficked mammal) is depicted in chains. This reinforces the feeling of entrapment that will be experienced by the beautiful creatures caught in this cruel trade.
As American biologist, Paul R.Ehrlich once said; "In pushing other species to extinction, humanity is sawing off the limb on which it perches."
