Interwoven #1 (Exercises in Root System Domestication)

Interwoven #2 is a living floor installation, for which Scherer allows oat seeds to grown into fabric. Only a few hours before the exhibition opens, Scherer turns the plant fabric so that the bare roots are revealed to the visitors. The roots lie fragile and beautiful while exposed to light and air without protection. It is kept alive by watering it for a few days longer.
