Follow the rabbit

Goal 16 Peace justice and strong institutions

During Apartheid leaders like chief Albert Luthuli used nonviolence to bring about political change yet violence also became a method of response for others. In “Follow the rabbit” violence is compared to nonviolence. It shows the viewer the methods that were and are still used in response to our country’s Leadership. Most of the time we forget there is a third choice that we make unknowingly which is to just stand by and watch. Each of these methods helped to establish the SDG: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions in South Africa and are still contributing to maintaining this SDG. The artwork itself was created in a child’s storybook manner. I wanted it to be understood by children especially. Most people don’t comprehend how important their response is to our Leadership. It is important to learn from a young age that your stance and choices you make in our country’s politics influences everyone.
