UP Student Gallery

Opening of the, You Don't Say exhibition held at the University of Pretoria's Student Gallery from 9– 15 October 2021 and curated by Teboho Lebakeng. 

This group exhibition will feature three never before seen artworks by South African conceptual artist Willem Boshoff. It will also showcase works of art produced by the students of the University of Pretoria as part of a number of workshops related to the conference themes. Prompted by Willem Boshoff's work, the students created artworks using language as their primary form of inspiration. The resulting artworks tackle a broad range of issues ranging from our perceptions of the natural environment, language as a form of movement and notions of ownership.

The works also feature a wide variety of mediums that range from video art, sculptures and even posters. The Javett-UP is also currently running an exhibition titled ‘Word Woes’ by Willem Boshoff and curated by Hélène Smuts. ‘Word Woes’ runs from 13 March 2021 – 22 January 2022 at the Javett-UP.
